I personally extracted an extraordinary amount of value from this book. In fact, I wish more books were written this way. So often you get a business book that's 300 pages long but the science and/or summary points are made in the first 5 pages - that's where the value really is. The rest is often fodder or unnecessary depth. This book was direct, to the point, and replete with information I needed to formulate my own perspective on BD. I read it in 20 minutes but have referred back to it countless times.

Very easy read for the busy person. Can read in one afternoon. Since the field of BD is so broad it’s hard to do a deep dive into the topic without specific industry knowledge.

I used this book as a checkpoint when preparing to approach a potential client or starting a new partnership. I recommend it to anyone who already has some experience in business development and wishes to refresh it. Not many books go directly to the point as this one. Looking forward to a second edition adding more personal experiences!~

Whether you're starting out in Biz Dev or have been in it for a while, this book should be super helpful in your career.

This is a good basic book that deliver clarity. A nice lunch read. Need to go into details. But enough for a start.

The book is not extensive in details on tasks and duties of a business developer. Rather, the author focuses on giving a thorough overview of the process and what challenges as we as solutions to them may be accessible. I'd recommend it as a starter pack.

Fast read with quality content, clear messaging, and real-world examples. Scott Pollack is a well-respected leader in the Business Development field and I'm so glad to see that he's now sharing his expertise with everyone who is able to get their hands on this book. This View of Life has a central idea that is both important and valid. However, the author’s choice of writing for a popular audience made much of the science oversimplified and somewhat misleading. A good book, but parts will be grating to scientists and the scientifically literate alike.Essentially, Wilson argues that evolutionary thinking has been unfairly marred by the Social Darwinist label and needs to be made a basis for public policy. He begins by correctly separating Darwinian evolution from eugenic or anti-welfare policies. Here, he paints an overly rosy picture of Darwin (whose racist sayings shocked this reader when I read his original texts) and Galton (whose eugenic ideas were truly terrifying despite his genuine contributions to statistics). It’s not that Wilson lies but this reader got the feeling that he was more cheerleading for Darwin than painting a full picture of early twentieth century misrepresentations of his theory.Similarly, the major contribution from the evolutionary worldview that Wilson emphasizes is that human beings are not rational seekers of self-interest but naturally social animals who flourish most within small communities of support. This is a genuine insight and it should inform public policy but the treatment given to classical economic theory and those who do not believe in group level selection is little more than that of straw-man arguments.If you want to read a book about Wilson’s obviously important contributions to public policy that is written for everyone this is a good choice. If you are a scientist, or at least scientifically literate, prepare for some irritation.In short, maybe my expectations for this book were just wrong. If I had known that it would be a very simple introduction to the contemporary power of evolutionary thinking I would have loved it. Believing it was going to be a serious scientific work left me with unmet anticipations.Hopefully, this review can help potential readers enjoy the book for what it is: a well-written account of how the evolutionary worldview can positively influence contemporary public policy.

I can't wait to find more ways to apply this to the world. What amazing feats we can accomplish when we have the right information. If you are interested in learning how we can work together and do our small parts to improve our circumstances, both for ourselves individually and for our communities, this book is a great place to start! If you are interested in understanding more about human behavior, this is for you. If you have any doubts about whether this book applies to you, let me tell you that it does! I couldn't help but think of all aspects of my life, all of the occupations in the world, and all of the regulatory groups that could be improved with the application of the principles conveyed in this book. Do yourself a favor and learn from those who have devoted their lives to understanding and disseminating how we can do more for ourselves by understanding how we've developed.

He has proven himself to be a great scientific thinker and communicator for decades.But this book is his best and I think that history will put this book as his most important contribution to our understanding of the world and our place in it.This book walks the reader through the basic ideas of natural selection, the history of Darwinism in modern thought, and the importance of multi-level selection as it relates to the human condition. Seamlessly, powerfully, and succinctly.From there, he takes a bold step: He makes the case that this understanding of evolutionary processes can, in a broad variety of ways, help make our world a better place.I put this book up there with Dawkins' The Selfish Gene and Pinker's The Blank Slate in terms of its impact on how we can understand what it means to be part of the living world. I currently have a graduate class full of bright students who are reading this book. Recently, I was asked to do some analysis on longitudinal patient data using fixed effects regression. This book provided an excellent, step-by-step approach on how to tackle the problem.The first two chapters cover an overview of fixed effects and random effects modeling in the context of ordinary least squares. Then, Prof. Allison devotes a chapter to each of several topics: modeling binary outcomes, modeling counting outcomes, and modeling time to event (I admit that I stopped at Chapter 5).I am particularly impressed by the way he shows different approaches to solving problems. And, that he compares the performance of different routines. It turns out that for many of my problems, proc genmod with GEE approximation is a good solution -- and one that finished in a few minutes rather than a few hours.

Author provides nice explanation of PROC CALIS for linear fixed effects, random effects and reciprocal effects with lagged predictors. That said, why not in the same volume provide additional discussion clarifying distinction between PROC GLM use of least squares for linear trends and use of PROC CALIS for linear and nonlinear trends and tests for significance in PROC CALIS.

Fun! Fun! Fun! Just when you think there can't be an original new book on travel along comes Ultimate Journeys for TwoThis book from the 2000 day honeymoon couple shows you not just how to travel but how to live life to the fullest. So many travel books suggest where to go and what to see - this book adds another dimension -- how to experience the destination. Anne and Mike take calligraphy lessons, dance with locals, go off the beaten path and are warmly welcomed into homes by people around the world. That says a ton about the Howard's ability to connect. Something else I loved - they also generously connected with other couples who have dedicated a year or more to traveling the globe -- and share some of their stories and recommendations. This book is also a delight for armchair travelers who will enjoy the fantasy of roving to far flung places and seeing them through stunning photographs. Mike and Anne Howard have a spirit of adventure that is downright contagious. Putting down this book, I wanted to immediately hop on a plane, trace their steps and pack in some of the joy, delight, humor, excitement and wonder Anne and Mike Howard deliver in these pages.

Frankly, this book is beautiful and amazing. The authors literally did what any happy couple would want to do in life...travel the world!!! But, if I thought my wife and I traveled (we did a 1 month honey moon), Mike and Anne did a honeytrek on steroids. They traveled everywhere and they didn't go anywhere lame. The reason why I think this book is worth the purchase is that it is a great reference for places to go AND how to travel on a budget and as a couple. There is great insight in it as well. The photography is great and they took many of the photos themselves.By the way, now Mike and Anne have been driving around North America in an old camper trying to write a book on Glamping. Yeah, they live the life.Look, I am an experienced traveler, but Ultimate Journeys for Two has helped open my eyes up to future plans for my wife and me. Now all I need is to get my kids to grow up!!! Maybe we'll just do their journey and make a second book called Ultimate Journeys for Four.....nah!!!!!

Not the “when it is Tuesday, it is Belgium” kind of travel but travel that will open up the world and broaden one’s horizons. Many of us travel and see one monument after another, one great piece of nature after another—come home and show of photos of where we have been, without having really experienced the country.Anne and Mike encourage you to become travelers who want to drink deeply from the country and its people and their culture, respect the locals and their traditions and admire their heritage. Yet have lots of fun. This book is unlike the other travel guides I've bought and used in the past. Really great travel tips / hacks for planning and packing and making the most of your budget and time, accompanied by beautiful photographs throughout. The book is broken out into chapters based on what you're looking for in your vacation (ie Mountains, Beaches, Lakes, etc). I like the philosophy the authors take of "the road less traveled" to gain a truly authentic experience wherever you go. Highly recommend.

Mike and Anne Howard’s "Ultimate Journeys for Two" is a feast for the eyes, and senses! I could almost hear the sounds, and smell the foods, to say nothing of the beauty of their images. It is unlikely that I will ever visit even 10% of these amazing and unusual places, off the beaten path, but Mike and Anne have repeatedly given me a vicarious thrill with the turn of every page!As Mike’s high school photography teacher, I admit I may be a bit biased about the images, but they are nothing short of stunning! The colors, the faces, the plates of local cuisine, the animals…these photos are compelling…they make me think the only possible thing to enhance this book would be sound clips and scratch and sniff pages! So often tourists return from their journeys seeming to have viewed their trips through the viewfinders of their cameras, but not in Ultimate Journeys! Anne and Mike’s photos never seemed rushed, and each seemed chosen with care and attention to the entire environment!Whether you plan, or even just hope, to visit some of the many spots the Howards have chronicled, this book will inspire beyond words…literally! It is sure to leave you breathless, and yearning for your own Ultimate Journey.

I love all of Sitchin's books. This was one of two needed to complete the 'Earth Chronicles' series. I'm a big fan of the 'Ancient Aliens' tv series and the whole ancient astronaut theory so this was a must. All of these are informative and he really did his homework. Like Erich Von Daniken, Zecharia Sitchin shared the same ideas, but from a slightly different perspective. Each on is basically a different culture or civilization like Sumeria or Egypt and their 'gods'. These are facts and science-not fiction.

Must read the Complete Series in order to understand the concept that covers 460,000 + years to present and at first you will think he is crazy but at some time you will question your belief system then by the conclusion you will know where you stand in your belief system and only Question is WHY? he does not answer that he leaves it to you and your belief system!!!

Every book in the Earth Chronicles series is a delight to read. You may not agree with all of Sitchin's theories regarding Nibiru and the Anunnaki, but his chronology of ancient history and global events is spot-on, and his understanding of Sumerian mythology and language is impeccable. Regardless of the personal conclusions you arrive at after reading his work, I can certainly guarantee that you will also come away with a much greater sense of possibility for our ancient past, and the realization that there is much, much more to our history than we've ever been led to believe. In my opinion, it is the great work of researchers like Zecharia Sitchin and others that will ultimately bridge the gap between evolution and creationism, and finally reveal to us the long-hidden truths about our celestial origins.

I enjoy reading Sitchin's works. However, this one is a little bit out there, especially the chapter about the secret meanings in ancient writings, including the Bible. That chapter is a bit long winded.

Sitchen knocks another one out of the park. I find the Ancient Sumerian "mythology" to be endlessly intriguing. Sitchen is never afraid to lay it out plainly (with heaps of research). Another good volume to his series.

Very interesting book love it. I love these books keeps me busy on weekends and at night..I would recommend this book to everybody who likes these type of books..

This is not science fiction, and anyone who is deeply religious should not read Z. Sitchin's book,but anyone who has doubts about religion should read ALL of his books. What is missing in the Bible can be found here, and sit you on a whole new course and a new way of thinking of how this universe and our world really works.
