I held my breath a lot during this book and muttered phrases like "don't go down the mine alone!" and "don't listen to him!" I guess I've come to care about these characters, perhaps a little too much. It is because I was emotionally invested in the outcome and the writing is superb that I gave this book 4 stars instead of 3. I couldn't give it 5 stars because it wasn't quite as engaging as some of the others. Ross and Demelza serve as patriarch and matriarch and have maintained their wit and affection for each other. They have several sweet moments. Stephen Carrington who seems not quite honorable, but not quite roguish, shows some selflessness in a relationship with a woman in which he has nothing to gain. As much as his character makes me uncomfortable, I am still intrigued by him. I wanted to see more Valentine--he's very friendly and outgoing and seems quite charming but also completely self-centered and hedonistic. I enjoyed hearing of Geoffrey Charles, but wanted him to come home to Cornwall already!

The best of the Poldark series books are 1-7. 8 and 9 are more about Ross n Demelza’s children. They are interesting characters but you don’t take them into your heart like Ross and Demelza. Also, too much technical info about steam engines.

While I am STILL enjoying the series and am one of a few reviewers who are glad of the generational shift in the saga, I am very peeved at Clowance for EVER having been even tempted by Stephen. Furthermore I am SO disappointed in Jeremy's shenanigans. But even though this book ends with a pall hanging over their heads, Graham's writing is still making me turn pages quickly to find out what happens. I will now read book 10. I am so glad I purchased all 12 in the series! I recommend any lover of English historical romantic fiction to buy this series....because you WILL want to own it!

I am nearing the end of the "A Novel of Cornwall" series of 12 books. I watched the original Poldark series decades ago and recently watched it again. These latter books go beyond the TV series and focus primarily on Ross and Demelza's two eldest children and their loves. If you make it this far in the series, this will not disappoint you. Always a page turner.

This is the 10th novel in the Poldark series. It is a beautifully written and engaging novel that is historically correct using fictional characters. It is very hard to put down. I heartily recommend the whole series. Although the BBC series is excellent, the novels can more thoroughly delve into the characters and their lives.

I've enjoyed the entire Poldark series and will hate to come to the end. The later books seem to include more background on the political climate of the time and I do find myself brushing over some of this to get back to the interactions between the characters, which is what I find most compelling, but overall I find the books extremely well-written and very readable.

I've read the Poldark series in the order they were written and each one is such a good read. You must read from the beginning in order to know the characters as each novel follows story lines created in the previous ones. Really a good series and the Miller's Dance was another good book!

I have read all the books up to the Miller Dance #9. Continuing the saga of the Poldarks and their children, who are grown now and falling in love. Ross and Demelza are still my main interest. Their are only 3 more books after this one. I will hopefully finish all of them.

I just received this Bible recently. I love how it ties in the Old Testament with the new. The gospel is woven throughout.I’m so excited about what I’ve learned and will learn as I read through this Bible.

In Bryan Chapell's classic homlietics book Christ-Centered Preaching, Chapell, a Presbyterian scholar, claims that "Christ-centered" exposition does not necessarily mean magically finding Christ on every page but showing how every passage points to Christ. This is the goal of the ESV Gospel Transformation Study Bible (Crossway, 2019). For many, it is difficult to read the story of the Bible—which many argue points to Christ—without understanding its fullness. Enter this new study Bible.This Bible includes over 375,000 study notes with the sole purpose of pointing toward Christ's work in the New Testament. Additionally, there are over 50 articles written by respected scholars on the nature of covenant and the Gospel. This review is for the hardcover edition of the Gospel Transformation Study Bible.The dust jacket on this Bible is very nice looking with the blue and white design and the Bible looks even nicer when the dust jacket is removed and you can see the blue and white design on the cover, the head and tail bands are blue and white which match the cover colors. The Bibles does come with a silver colored ribbon marker to keep your place. The binding has sewn signatures so this Bible will hold up to years of use. The single column layout is easy to read, the letters for the cross references are a bit small for my eyes and are hard to see but the references themselves I can see. The study notes are in a double column format. The layout of the Bible is nicely done.The study notes are all Christ and Gospel centered and will help you to learn how the Bible ultimately points to Jesus and that we all need a redeemer. I really enjoy the notes and it is neat to see things that point to Jesus that you may not have picked up on otherwise. This Bible also contains book introductions, some great articles as well as a topical index, concordance and maps. This Bible is not line matched so there will be some ghosting but it is not bad due to the paper being opaque and it does not distract me when reading this Bible.I would recommend this Bible to a new believer or a seasoned Christian as well. The ESV is an excellent translation. I hope this review helps if you're considering this Bible.I received this copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I love, love, love this Study Bible published by Crossway Publishers. First, the print of both the Scripture and the Footnotes are easy enough to read. I love the cover design which is perfect for a man or woman. There are maps, and sections for personal information (ex. marriages, deaths, …) and a ribbon to hold the reader’s place. At the beginning of each book, information is given for author and date, how the Gospel ties into that book of the Bible, and an outline for that book. I also feel this hardback book is very durable. I read the book of Ruth and found it comfortable and sound reading. This Bible lays flat which makes it perfect as a study tool.The only thing I didn’t like was the scripture references in the sidebar. They were not big enough even with my glasses on. I believe if that print was just a little bigger it would be easier to read and still not take away from the text. However, I do like that the references are in the sidebar instead of the middle of the page, or at the bottom.Would I recommend this Bible? Yes! This is not the advertised book written by Nonaka and Takeuchi, this is a much shorter and version about the knowledge creating company. Be careful not to be misled as I was when purchasing the Kindle version. Amazon should do something about, this is fraudulent.

This book has its origins in an article the two authors wrote for the Harvard Business Review in 1986 about new product development in Japanese companies. Rather than construct a complex theory, complete with flow charts and diagrams, they used a simple metaphor: developing a new product is more like a rugby game than a relay race. Under the rugby approach, the product development process emerges from the constant interaction of a multidisciplinary team whose members work together from start to finish. As in rugby, the ball gets passed within the team as it moves as a unit toward the goal.Because project teams consist of members with varying functional specializations, the issue of learning was considered a key aspect of product development. The article focused on two dimensions of learning: across multiple levels (individual, group, and corporate) and across multiple functions. But although the authors devoted sections to cross-fertilization and transfer of learning, they didn't develop the epistemological dimension of learning, and their focus was more on the learning organization than on the knowledge-creating company. Japanese firms' reliance on trial and error and on learning by doing wasn't analyzed in terms of the prevalence of tacit knowledge and processes of organizational knowledge creation.In their book, Nonaka and Takeuchi introduce a key distinction between two kinds of knowledge: explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge. Explicit knowledge can be expressed in words and numbers and shared in the form of data, scientific formulae, specifications, manuals, and the like. This kind of knowledge can be readily transmitted across individuals formally and systematically. Tacit knowledge, on the other hand, is highly personal and hard to formalize, making it difficult to communicate or share with others. Subjective insights, intuitions, and hunches fall into this category of knowledge. Difficult to verbalize, such tacit knowledge is deeply rooted in an individual's action and experience, as well as in the ideals, values, or emotions he or she embraces.There are two dimensions to knowledge creation: epistemological and ontological. The epistemological level describes how knowledge is converted from one type into another through processes of socialization (from tacit knowledge to tacit knowledge), externalization (from tacit knowledge to explicit knowledge), combination (from explicit to explicit) and internalization (from explicit to tacit). The ontological level refers to the knowledge-creating entity: it includes individual, group, organizational, and interorganizational levels. Epistemologically, Westerners tend to emphasize explicit knowledge and the Japanese tend to stress tacit knowledge. Ontologically, Westerners are more focused on individuals, while the Japanese are more group-oriented. These differences give rise to a wholly different view of the organization: not as a machine for processing information, but as a living organism. People in Japan emphasize the importance of learning from direct experience as well as through trial and error. Like a child learning to eat, walk, and talk, they learn with their minds and bodies. This tradition of emphasizing the oneness of body and mind has been a unique feature of Japanese thinking since the establishment of Zen Buddhism.The Western philosophical tradition, culminating with Wittgenstein, stresses that "we cannot say what we cannot think". But through metaphors, analogies, and pictures, people put together what they know in new ways and begin to express what they know but cannot yet say. This messy knowledge can prove indispensable in elaborating new concepts.
